Public Schools and Communities Division Welcome to the Public Schools and Communities Division!
Welcome to the Public Schools and Communities Division! Not since the civil rights era have our public schools and K-12 education faced so many challenges. If you are interested in and concerned about K-12 public education, our public schools, and their impacts on neighborhoods and communities, then please join our Division! We promote communication and professional learning opportunities that address the many intersections of school planning and planning for great communities.
The mission of the Public Schools and Communities Division is to create stronger linkages between the planning profession and public school districts to support and strengthen public education and public schools, create stronger neighborhoods and communities, and increase opportunities for our youth and their families, as well as to integrate public schools into community planning more holistically to ensure land use, housing, transportation, and other planning policies minimize inequities and maximize resources and opportunities within our schools and communities.
APA Public Schools + Communities Division (PS+CD) ONLINE CONFERENCE
We were excited to have so many of you in attendance at the November APA School Planning Summit, and we are following up to let you know that the videos of the conference sessions are now available to everyone who registered for the conference. In order to access this content, simply go to the conference website (www.schoolplanningsummit.com) and click on the button that says “Login for Conference Registrants.” You will be prompted to enter your email address to gain access – please be sure to use the same address you used to register for the conference. Once you have done that, you will see the conference schedule with “View Video” green buttons at the bottom of every panel description.
Please enjoy, and please tell interested people who did not register that they will soon be able to register for the “On-Demand Package.” That access is coming soon to the conference website.
